The cabin is equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, along with a new three-spoke steering wheel. Toyota has also retained physical controls for key driving functions, making them easier to operate during off-road driving.

Power comes from the familiar 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, producing 201 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, while buyers can choose between 4×2 and 4×4 drivetrain configurations depending on the variant.
The manual gearbox has been discontinued for the new-generation model, and unlike the Fortuner, the Hilux does not receive Toyota’s 48V mild-hybrid system.

The 2026 Toyota Hilux continues to compete with the Isuzu V-Cross in India’s lifestyle pickup segment.
The latest update focuses on improving the Hilux’s everyday usability without compromising the rugged characteristics it is known for. With refreshed styling, a significantly upgraded cabin, more technology, and the addition of a new 4×2 automatic variant, Toyota has made the ninth-generation Hilux a more compelling option for buyers looking for a premium lifestyle pickup.
