Toyota Fortuner Becomes More Expensive in 2026: Prices Go Up by Up to Rs 74,000
Toyota Fortuner has once again received a price revision in India, making the full-size SUV more expensive as we enter 2026. Depending on the variant, prices have increased by up to Rs 74,000, reinforcing the Fortuner’s position as a premium, high-demand SUV in the Indian market.
Toyota has attributed the hike to rising input costs and routine year-end cost adjustments. While the increase may look modest on paper for some trims, it adds to the Fortuner’s already premium on-road pricing, especially in metro cities.

The petrol-powered 2.7-litre automatic variant sees a small hike of around Rs 5,400, pushing its ex-showroom price beyond Rs 34 lakh. Diesel variants, which account for the majority of Fortuner sales in India, have also become costlier. Manual diesel versions see an increase of roughly Rs 5,000, while automatic diesel variants attract higher revisions.
The biggest jump is on the Fortuner GR-S 4WD, which now costs Rs 74,000 more than before. With this, the flagship Fortuner variant crosses close to the Rs 50 lakh mark (ex-showroom), putting it firmly in luxury SUV territory.
For buyers, this price hike matters because the Fortuner already commands a strong resale value and long waiting periods in many regions. The latest revision could push fence-sitters to either advance their purchase decision or start considering alternatives like the MG Gloster, Jeep Meridian, or Skoda Kodiaq.
Despite repeated price hikes, the Fortuner’s brand image, reliability record, and road presence continue to keep demand strong, suggesting Toyota is unlikely to face any immediate slowdown in bookings.
