India’s two-wheeler retail market started 2026 on a strong note with total registrations reaching 18,52,870 units in January, marking a 20.82 per cent year-on-year growth. Hero MotoCorp retained its leadership position, while Honda, TVS, Bajaj and other major brands followed closely in overall sales rankings.

Hero MotoCorp led the market with 4,92,167 units retailed in January 2026, up 19.59 per cent year-on-year. The brand added more than 80,000 units in incremental volume and held a 26.56 per cent market share, supported largely by strong commuter motorcycle and entry-level scooter demand.

Honda secured second position with 4,72,938 units compared to 3,74,474 units a year earlier. The company posted a 26.29 per cent growth and held a 25.52 per cent share, aided by steady demand for the Activa scooter range and Shine motorcycles.
TVS Motor Company stood third with 3,64,241 units, registering a 26.15 per cent rise over January 2025. Bajaj Auto followed with 1,95,752 units, growing 12.23 per cent year-on-year and maintaining a 10.56 per cent market share.
Mid-Segment Performance and EV Brand Trends

Royal Enfield recorded 1,06,398 units, marking a strong 35.14 per cent growth compared to last year. Suzuki retailed 98,899 units with an 11.26 per cent increase, while Yamaha posted 64,399 units with a 10.35 per cent growth.
Among electric-focused brands, Ather registered 21,999 units and emerged as the fastest-growing brand in the top ten with a 67.97 per cent increase. Ola Electric reported 7,516 units, showing a sharp year-on-year decline, while Ampere closed the list with 5,337 units and a 47.72 per cent rise.
