Tata Motors Beats Mahindra by 754 Units in February 2026 Sales
India’s passenger vehicle market continued its strong growth in February 2026, with total sales reaching 3,70,616 units. The figure represents a 24.93% increase compared to 2,96,657 units recorded in February last year.
Maruti Suzuki retained its clear leadership position, while Tata Motors narrowly secured second place ahead of Mahindra by a margin of just 754 units.

Tight Battle for Second Place
Tata Motors recorded 50,654 units in February, posting a strong 43.29% year-on-year growth. Mahindra followed closely with 49,900 units, reflecting a 20.07% increase over the same period last year.
Hyundai finished fourth with 45,213 units, while Toyota and Kia occupied the fifth and sixth positions, respectively.
The data highlights how competitive India’s passenger vehicle market has become, especially among the top four manufacturers. While Maruti Suzuki continues to dominate with over 41% market share, the race for second place between Tata Motors and Mahindra remains extremely close as demand for SUVs continues to drive overall industry growth.
