KTM 390 Adventure R Global-Spec Launched in India at Rs 3.77 Lakh
KTM has expanded its adventure motorcycle lineup in India with the launch of the global-spec 390 Adventure R, priced at Rs 3.77 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Positioned as a more hardcore alternative to the standard 390 Adventure, the Adventure R focuses heavily on off-road capability while also undercutting the regular model by Rs 20,000, largely due to the use of tubed tyres.
KTM 390 Adventure R Hardware and Off-Road Focus

The highlight of the 390 Adventure R is its significantly upgraded suspension setup. It gets a 43mm inverted front fork with open-cartridge design and 30-step damping adjustability, offering a massive 230mm of wheel travel. At the rear, a fully adjustable monoshock also delivers 230mm of travel, noticeably more than the standard model.
True to its rally-inspired intent, the motorcycle runs on a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheel setup, wrapped in tube-type Mita knobby tyres. Ground clearance stands at an imposing 272mm, while the seat height is a tall 880mm, underlining its off-road-first character.
Engine, Electronics and Rider Aids
Powering the KTM 390 Adventure R is the familiar 398.63cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 46PS and 39Nm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox and a slipper and assist clutch.
Despite its off-road focus, the bike comes loaded with electronics. It features cornering ABS, cornering traction control and a dedicated Offroad ABS mode that allows rear-wheel lock. An Offroad ride mode enables controlled rear-wheel slip, with settings retained even after an engine stall.

Design, Features and Pricing Context
Visually, the Adventure R gets rally-style graphics, a contrasting orange trellis frame and minimalistic bodywork. Rider information is displayed on a 5-inch colour TFT screen with KTM Connect support, while a USB Type-C charging port is fitted as standard.
With its global-spec hardware and aggressive pricing, the KTM 390 Adventure R is clearly aimed at serious off-road enthusiasts looking for a lightweight yet capable adventure motorcycle.
