KTM 160 Duke Gets New TFT Variant in India at Rs. 1.78 Lakh

KTM has expanded the 160 Duke lineup in India with the introduction of a new TFT-equipped variant. Priced at Rs. 1.78 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the new version sits above the standard KTM 160 Duke and brings a more premium instrument cluster and added electronic functionality. The update is clearly aimed at riders who want more technology and better usability without stepping up to a larger-capacity Duke.

What’s New in the KTM 160 Duke TFT Variant

The biggest upgrade comes in the form of a full-colour 5-inch TFT instrument cluster. This is the same bonded-glass display seen on the KTM 390 Duke, offering improved clarity, better durability and a more modern interface compared to the standard bike’s LCD screen. KTM has also introduced a revised switch cube with four-way controls, allowing riders to navigate menus directly from the handlebar.

When paired with a smartphone via the KTM My Ride app, the TFT display supports turn-by-turn navigation, incoming call alerts and music control. Navigation prompts are displayed clearly on the screen, reducing the need for a phone mount while riding. The system is designed to minimise distraction, with outgoing calls and contact browsing disabled when the bike is in motion.

Another notable addition is Supermoto ABS mode, which can be activated through the TFT interface. This mode disengages ABS intervention at the rear wheel while keeping the front ABS active, allowing experienced riders more control in specific riding scenarios such as track use or controlled slides.

Features, Usability and Riding Experience

The TFT display offers a high level of customisation, including adjustable shift RPM and limit RPM settings. Depending on riding conditions, the screen dynamically switches between dark and KTM’s signature orange themes. Riders can also personalise menu layouts and shortcuts, making day-to-day use more intuitive.

Music playback is supported when paired with a Bluetooth helmet headset, with track changes and volume control accessible via the handlebar switches. Importantly, the setup allows riders to manage key functions without taking their hands off the bars, improving safety and convenience during everyday rides.

Price, Engine, and Should You Buy It?

The KTM 160 Duke TFT variant is priced at around Rs. 8,000 more than the standard model, which continues on sale with an LCD display. Mechanically, the bike remains unchanged. It is powered by a 164.2 cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 19 PS and 15.5 Nm, paired with a six-speed gearbox. Hardware such as the trellis frame, WP Apex USD forks and dual-channel ABS is carried over.

For riders who value navigation support, a richer display and added electronic features, the TFT variant justifies the small premium. However, buyers focused purely on performance can still opt for the standard 160 Duke without missing out on the core riding experience.
