4 Cars And SUVs With True Triple-Screen Dashboards in India

4 Cars And SUVs With True Triple Screen Dashboards in India

Car interiors in India have changed rapidly over the past few years, with screens becoming the centrepiece of modern cabins. While many models now offer large digital displays, only a very small number of cars and SUVs go a step further by offering a true triple-screen layout.

In this context, a true triple-screen setup means three functional digital displays inside the cabin – a digital instrument cluster for the driver, a central infotainment touchscreen, and a dedicated screen for the front passenger. As of now, only four cars and SUVs in India genuinely offer this configuration.

Mahindra XEV 9e

The Mahindra XEV 9e was the first model in India to introduce a proper triple-screen dashboard, setting a new benchmark for in-cabin technology. This electric SUV coupe comes equipped with three 12.3-inch displays that span across the dashboard.

One screen functions as the fully digital instrument cluster, while the central unit handles infotainment duties. The third screen is dedicated to front passenger entertainment, allowing access to media streaming, apps, and connected features. All variants of the XEV 9e come with this triple-screen layout, making it a core highlight rather than a top-variant feature.

Mahindra XEV 9S

The Mahindra XEV 9S extends the triple-screen experience to a three-row electric SUV format. It uses the same three 12.3-inch displays as the XEV 9e, arranged within a single wide panel to create a clean, panoramic look.

As with the XEV 9e, the screens are split between driver information, infotainment, and front passenger entertainment. The passenger screen adds a layer of exclusivity to the cabin, especially for long journeys. Mahindra offers this triple-screen setup across the XEV 9S range, reinforcing its focus on technology-led interiors.

Tata Sierra

The new-generation Tata Sierra brings a true triple-screen layout to the ICE SUV segment. Unlike the Mahindra EVs, the Sierra uses a slightly different screen configuration.

It gets a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, paired with a 12.3-inch central infotainment touchscreen and a 12.3-inch front passenger entertainment display. The passenger screen supports private audio playback using earphones, allowing occupants to enjoy content without disturbing the driver.

This triple-screen setup is available on higher variants of the Tata Sierra, positioning it as a premium feature within the lineup. It also plays a key role in defining the Sierra’s modern, lifestyle-oriented cabin design.

Mahindra XUV 7XO (Teased)

Mahindra has officially teased the upcoming XUV 7XO, which is the facelifted version of the XUV700, and one of the biggest updates is its interior. Teaser images and test mule sightings confirm that the SUV will feature a triple-screen dashboard inspired by the XEV electric lineup.

The XUV 7XO is expected to use three large displays, likely measuring 12.3 inches each, serving the digital instrument cluster, infotainment system, and front passenger entertainment. While final specifications will be confirmed at launch, the presence of a true triple-screen layout has already been established through official previews.

Conclusion

At present, only four cars and SUVs in India offer a genuine triple-screen dashboard with a dedicated front passenger display. Mahindra has clearly taken the lead in this space, especially with its XEV electric models, while Tata has brought the concept to a more mainstream ICE SUV with the Sierra.

As in-cabin technology continues to evolve, triple-screen layouts are expected to appear in more segments. For now, however, these four models stand out as the most screen-focused and tech-forward cabins available in the Indian market.
