2026 Kia EV2 Debuts as Entry-Level EV With 400V Tech and 448 Km Range
Kia has officially unveiled the EV2, positioning it as its most affordable global electric vehicle and a key part of the brand’s expanding EV strategy. Debuted for European markets, the Kia EV2 will be manufactured in Slovakia and is expected to sit below the EV3 in Kia’s electric line-up. While official pricing has not been announced, reports suggest a starting price of around £26,000, translating to roughly Rs 31.5 lakh.

The Kia EV2 is built on a scaled-down version of Kia’s E-GMP platform, a dedicated electric architecture also used by models such as the EV3, EV6 and EV9. Despite being entry-level, the EV2 retains a born-electric layout, helping maximise interior space and efficiency. Dimensionally, the compact electric SUV measures around 4.06 metres in length, placing it against rivals like the Renault 4 E-Tech and Volkswagen’s upcoming ID.2-based crossover.

Design-wise, the EV2 carries a boxy and upright stance similar to other Kia EVs. It features distinctive LED lighting elements, squared wheel arches, flush door handles and a clean rear profile, giving it a practical yet modern appearance suited for urban use.
Inside, the EV2 offers a flexible cabin with both four-seat and five-seat configurations. A triple-screen layout dominates the dashboard, combining a digital instrument cluster, infotainment screen and climate controls. Features such as OTA updates, digital keys, surround-view cameras and a full suite of ADAS are also on offer.

Power comes from two battery options. The smaller 42.2 kWh pack delivers a range of 317 km, while the larger 61.0 kWh battery offers up to 448 km. The EV2 uses a 400V electrical architecture and supports fast charging, along with V2L and V2G functionality.
As of now, the Kia EV2 remains Europe-focused, with no confirmation on an India launch.
