Why Maruti Suzuki Kizashi Failed in India?

Maruti Suzuki's one of the fastest cars that they ever built. Let's deep dive into reasons why Maruti Suzuki Kizashi failed in India?

Maruti Suzuki is known for its affordable and high mileage vehicles but in 2009 they did apposite by unveiling performance centric mid-size sedan. It’s not just India Suzuki is known for its in Global market, but Suzuki tried to change their Image with this car. But they failed everywhere and stopped production in 2016.

I search of why Maruti Suzuki Kizashi failed in India I found lot of things about carmaker and how they produced this masterpiece that we are going to see in future. there’s a lot of reasons like import of CBU (Completely Built Unite) unite, wrong timing, and Poor sales and low Mileage.

Since carmaker trying to find space into United States and Europe market so they have to make it a performance can but in doing that they failed to keep good mileage that’s USP of brand.

Reasons Why Maruti Suzuki Kizashi Failed in India

  • Import Duties: Maruti Suzuki imported this car completely since in India you have to pay 105% on CBU Unite because of that in 2009 we get it for 18Lakhs and because of that price tag nobody wants to spend this amount on Maruti Suzuki Name and they failed to capture Indian Market.
  • Launch in financial crisis! : I think if Maruti Suzuki launched this performance centric sedan in 2016 or later then what would be great but in 2009 we all know that world is going after Financial crisis.
  • Poor Sales: Maruti has no experience with selling high price cars and they have failed to convince buyers but buy it. because of low sale they discontinued in India and after some time they stopped production.
  • Low Mileage: Mileage is most important factor in that time and completely with 2.4l engine you can’t produce high mileage. and that lead to low interest in buyers. It’s one of the main reasons in Indian market after high prices.
