Upcoming All-New Tata Sierra ICE & Electric – What We Know So Far

Tata Sierra Makes a Comeback
The Tata Sierra is all set to make a big comeback; this time, it’s coming in two avatars. First, the internal combustion engine (ICE) version will hit the roads, followed by a fully electric model.
Showcased at Bharat Mobility Expo
Tata showcased the final production-ready ICE version of the Sierra at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. It stays close to the original EV concept in terms of design, bringing a retro-modern blend that taps into nostalgia while staying future-forward.
Bold and Futuristic Design
Visually, the Sierra stands out with a bold and muscular silhouette. Its floating roof effect, thanks to a blacked-out D-pillar and panoramic sunroof, adds flair. The rear design is clean and modern with a clamshell-style tailgate and wide LED light bar, while the front carries a unique grille and fresh alloy wheels for the ICE variant.
Expected Cabin Experience
On the inside, we expect Tata to offer a premium cabin experience with connected tech and practical space. While final interior details are yet to be revealed, Tata is likely to maintain a balance between comfort and advanced features.
Powertrain and Performance
Under the hood, the ICE Sierra is expected to get a 1.5-litre turbo petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel engine. These will offer the versatility Indian buyers look for. The electric Sierra, on the other hand, could come with two battery options, delivering over 500 km of range and fast charging support.

Launch Timeline
Tata plans to launch the Harrier EV first, followed by the Sierra ICE version in the second half of 2025. The Sierra EV will arrive later, adding another strong contender to Tata’s growing electric lineup.
Final Thoughts
With its strong design identity and dual-powertrain strategy, the Tata Sierra could be a compelling option in the midsize SUV space. It pays tribute to an icon, but with a clear eye on the future.
