Toyota camry, vellfire, and land cruiser recalled in india

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has announced a voluntary Toyota recall India for its luxury lineup in India, including the Camry, Vellfire, and Land Cruiser. The recall targets over 4,800 units affected by a potential fault in the Parking Assist ECU system, which controls the 360-degree camera display.

Recall Details

The issue pertains to the Panoramic View Monitor system responsible for displaying the rear-view image when reversing. A software error in the ECU could cause the rear-view display to either freeze momentarily or fail to appear during subsequent ignition cycles. This malfunction may affect visibility during reversing, prompting Toyota to issue a preventive recall.

Models And Units Affected

According to the official recall notice, a total of 4,863 vehicles are affected:

  • 2,257 units of the Camry manufactured between July 18, 2024, and September 23, 2025
  • 1,862 units of the Vellfire were produced from July 19, 2023, to May 12, 2025
  • 744 units of the Land Cruiser were built between May 31, 2023, and July 28, 2025

Toyota’s Response

Toyota has confirmed that there have been no reports of any related incidents in the Indian market so far. The company emphasised that the recall is a proactive and precautionary step to ensure the highest safety standards. The campaign involves reprogramming the Parking Assist ECU software, and authorised dealers will contact affected customers to arrange the free software update at service centres nationwide.

Pricing And Availability

Currently, the Toyota Camry is priced from ₹47.48 lakh, the premium Vellfire MPV starts at ₹1.19 crore, and the Land Cruiser is offered from ₹2.15 crore (all prices ex-showroom). The recall demonstrates Toyota’s continued commitment to safety and customer satisfaction in India’s premium vehicle segment.
