Top 10 Midsize SUVs in October 2025: Creta Leads, Scorpio & Victoris Surge
The midsize SUV segment remains one of the most competitive and fast-growing categories in India, especially with rising interest in fuel-efficient hybrid SUVs and feature-rich petrol and diesel models, and the October 2025 sales figures show how strongly each brand is fighting for the top spot. The Hyundai Creta, Mahindra Scorpio and Maruti Suzuki Victoris led the charts, while Toyota, Tata and Kia also posted impressive numbers.
Hyundai Creta stays ahead
The Hyundai Creta continued its dominance in the midsize SUV sales charts, reinforcing why it remains the best-selling midsize SUV in India with 18,381 units sold in October 2025. It saw a 5 per cent year-on-year increase, reaffirming its position as the benchmark in the midsize SUV category. Consistent updates and strong brand recall keep it firmly at the top.
Mahindra Scorpio maintains strong demand
The Mahindra Scorpio range followed closely, strengthening its position as one of India’s highest-selling ladder-frame SUVs with 18,107 units, registering a healthy 14 per cent YoY growth. With both the Scorpio N and Scorpio Classic on sale, Mahindra’s dual-strategy is clearly working well for a wide spectrum of buyers.
Maruti Suzuki Victoris makes a big debut

One of the biggest highlights of the month was the Maruti Suzuki Victoris, a new midsize SUV that has quickly emerged as a strong rival to the Creta and Scorpio. In its first full month of sales, the SUV posted 13,496 units. Strong demand for its petrol and hybrid powertrains, combined with a five-star safety rating in GNCAP and Bharat NCAP, has helped it gain quick traction among Indian families.
Toyota Hyryder jumps, Grand Vitara slows
Toyota Hyryder recorded 11,555 units, reflecting the growing demand for strong hybrid midsize SUVs in India, achieving a remarkable 112 per cent YoY increase. Its strong hybrid system continues to attract buyers seeking efficiency and refinement.
However, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara saw a slowdown with 10,409 units, down by 26 per cent compared to last year. The arrival of the Victoris seems to have impacted its momentum.
XUV700 and Seltos show steady performance
The Mahindra XUV700 posted 10,139 units, maintaining its place among premium midsize SUVs with ADAS and powerful turbo engines, dipping slightly by 3 per cent YoY but maintaining stable demand. The Kia Seltos followed with 7,130 units, benefiting from steady demand for feature-loaded midsize SUVs with turbo petrol options, marking a 12 per cent rise as the brand prepares for the debut of the next-generation model.
Tata Harrier and Safari grow strongly
Tata Motors continued its strong presence with two models in the top ten. The Harrier posted 4,483 units, a massive 130 per cent YoY jump driven by a refreshed design and better features. The Safari recorded 2,510 units, growing by 20 per cent.
Honda Elevate stays consistent
The Honda Elevate maintained stable momentum with 2,186 units, posting a small 2 per cent YoY increase. Its practicality and straightforward package help it retain a steady customer base.
What the numbers mean
The October 2025 sales figures underline how competitive the midsize SUV segment has become. With strong performers across brands and new models on the way, the segment is set to get even more dynamic heading into 2026.
