Moto Morini X-Cape 700 Unveiled Globally: More Power, Sharper Features

Moto Morini has officially unveiled the X-Cape 700 as the successor to the X-Cape 650 and 650X. This new middleweight ADV brings a larger engine, sharper styling, and upgraded hardware. While its predecessors arrived in India in 2022, the fate of the X-Cape 700 in the Indian market remains uncertain.
Engine and Performance
At the heart of the X-Cape 700 lies a 693cc liquid-cooled parallel twin-cylinder engine. It delivers:
- Power: 70 HP
- Torque: 68 Nm
- Top Speed: 170 km/h
It features an 8-valve DOHC setup with a compression ratio of 11.6:1. The bore and stroke measure 83mm and 60mm, respectively, providing a more performance-oriented character than its 650cc predecessor.

Suspension and Brakes
Built for adventure, the X-Cape 700 comes equipped with high-end components:
- Front: 50mm Marzocchi USD forks, 175mm travel, adjustable compression & rebound
- Rear: Kayaba monoshock, 165mm travel, adjustable preload & rebound
Braking duties are handled by:
- Front: 298mm twin discs with 2-piston floating calipers
- Rear: 255mm single disc with 2-piston caliper
- ABS: Switchable Bosch ABS for off-road control

Wheels and Tyres
The X-Cape 700 will be offered in two variants:
- Alloy Wheels Variant
- Spoke Wheels Variant (with Pirelli Rally STR tyres)
Both get a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear setup, maintaining the ADV-ready proportions.
Dimensions and Features
- Fuel Tank: 18 litres
- Seat Height: 820mm or 840mm (adjustable)
- Dry Weight: 213 kg
- Ground Clearance: 190mm
Tech and comfort highlights include:
- 7-inch TFT display with slimmer bezels
- Manually adjustable windscreen
Will It Come to India?
Despite the excitement, Moto Morini hasn’t confirmed an India launch yet. Given that the X-Cape 650 series struggled with sales and saw price cuts in India, the brand may tread cautiously. If it does arrive, competitive pricing and better brand positioning will be key.

Conclusion
The Moto Morini X-Cape 700 packs serious upgrades in terms of performance, components, and tech. With a Euro5+ compliant engine and a proper adventure setup, it could find takers if priced right in India. But for now, Indian ADV enthusiasts will have to wait and watch.
