Moto Morini has brought back a legend, the Kanguro 300, blending 1980s heritage with modern dual sport design. Unveiled at EICMA 2025, the new Kanguro 300 reimagines the brand’s classic adventure bike for a new generation of riders. With its lightweight build, purposeful stance, and rugged styling, it promises a fun and approachable experience both on and off the road.

A Modern Tribute to the Original Kanguro

The Moto Morini Kanguro 300 carries forward the rugged charm of its predecessor from 1983 while introducing fresh design and performance updates. Its slim, purposeful stance and exposed frame underline its off-road character. The motorcycle will be available in two versions: a base variant with a high-mounted fender and a Rally version with a lower fender and a small windshield. Both aim to capture the spirit of adventure in a lightweight package.

Lightweight Build and Capable Hardware

The Kanguro 300 is built around a steel frame with an aluminium swingarm and rear subframe, keeping the weight impressively low at 145 kg for the base variant and 153 kg for the Rally. It rides on a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire spoke wheel setup, supported by a 41 mm front fork and progressive rear suspension. With 250 mm of wheel travel at both ends and switchable ABS, the Kanguro 300 is ready for gravel, dirt, and trails alike.

Engine and Performance

Powering the Kanguro 300 is a 300cc single-cylinder engine producing 33.5 bhp and 27 Nm of torque. The setup is tuned for a smooth, predictable response, ideal for new riders or those looking for a manageable adventure bike. The engine’s tractable nature, paired with its lightweight build, ensures a balance between control and fun on mixed terrain.

Global Launch Plans and India Possibility

Moto Morini has confirmed that the Kanguro 300 will go on sale globally in the second half of 2026. While there is no official confirmation yet for India, the country’s growing appetite for affordable ADVs and dual sports makes it a potential market for this model. If launched here, the Kanguro 300 could compete with bikes like the Hero Xpulse 200 and BMW G 310 GS.

The Kanguro 300’s comeback could reignite interest in affordable off-road motorcycles for a new generation of riders. With its classic looks and modern hardware, it’s a refreshing reminder that adventure doesn’t always need big engines or heavy machines.
