Maruti Suzuki’s New 5-Seater SUV Coming Soon – Creta, Watch Out

Maruti Suzuki is preparing to shake up the midsize SUV segment with a brand-new 5-seater offering. The launch is expected within the next three months, and it’s not coming via Nexa. Instead, this new SUV will be retailed through Maruti’s Arena dealerships.
That move alone tells us a lot. Maruti wants to go big in the mass-market space, not just the premium segment.

Rival to the Hyundai Creta
Positioned as a direct rival to the Hyundai Creta, the new SUV is likely to be priced between ₹11 to ₹16 lakh (ex-showroom). That puts it right in the heart of the midsize SUV battlefield.
Dealers are already talking, and the early buzz suggests this could be a big-volume product.
What Powers It?
While official specs aren’t out yet, it’s expected to use the familiar 1.5L four-cylinder mild-hybrid petrol engine—similar to what we’ve seen in the Brezza and Grand Vitara.
Both manual and automatic gearbox options will likely be available.
Familiar But Fresh Design
Recently spotted test mules give us a fair idea of what to expect. The SUV seems close in size to the Grand Vitara but wears a fresh design language.
Some of the highlights include:
- Upright grille and wide air intake
- Sleek LED headlamps and fog lamps
- Sculpted bonnet and squared-off wheel arches
- Y-shaped alloy wheels and connected LED tail lamps
It also gets a deep tailgate with what looks like generous boot space.
Inside the Cabin
We expect a spacious five-seater layout, a digital instrument cluster, wireless smartphone connectivity, and premium features borrowed from Maruti’s other SUVs.
Maruti knows this is a competitive segment. Comfort and practicality will be key.

Not a 7-Seater (Yet)
Maruti has no immediate plans for a 7-seater version. But something could be cooking for 2026. Until then, this model will lead the charge in the five-seater space.
Final Thoughts
This new SUV could be Maruti’s biggest launch for Arena in recent years. With solid pricing, fresh styling, and a proven powertrain, it has all the ingredients to challenge the segment leaders.
Stay tuned—the Creta might finally have a reason to look over its shoulder.
