Mahindra XUV700 Facelift May Debut as XUV 7XO: Launch Timeline and New Features

Xuv700 ebony edition unveiled priced from rs. 19.64 lakhs

Mahindra’s XUV700 is set for a new chapter in 2025, and the facelift may come with a new identity — XUV 7XO. A trademark filing and repeated test sightings suggest a significant refresh, focusing on premium styling and features rather than mechanical changes.

Why Mahindra may rename the XUV700 to XUV 7XO

A new badge is strongly hinted at by Mahindra’s approved trademark filing for “XUV 7XO.” It mirrors the strategy used for the XUV300, rebadged as the XUV 3XO during its facelift. If Mahindra follows the same approach, the XUV700 facelift is likely to debut with the XUV 7XO name in India.

Expected design and styling upgrades

Test mules reveal big exterior updates. The facelift is expected to feature a new grille, a fresh lighting signature, and twin-pod LED headlamps for a sharper front profile. Revised bumpers and alloy wheels may also be part of the update to give the SUV a more premium visual appeal.

Expected interior and new features

The biggest change will be inside the cabin. Mahindra is expected to introduce a triple‑screen dashboard layout inspired by the XEV 9e. The facelift may also include a redesigned dashboard, new door trims and a more premium audio system, likely from Harman Kardon. These upgrades should give the SUV a more luxurious and tech‑focused feel.

Engines and transmissions are expected to remain the same

The facelift is likely to retain the current mechanical setup. Mahindra’s 2.0‑litre turbo petrol and 2.0‑litre diesel engines are expected to continue with both 6‑speed manual and 6‑speed automatic options. Buyers can expect similar driving performance with improvements focused on comfort and technology instead of powertrain changes.

Launch timeline and market rollout

Reports suggest that production of the updated model may begin next month. The current XUV700 is likely to be discontinued by November 2025, which aligns with the expected rollout of the facelift. Once launched, the XUV 7XO will compete with segment rivals by offering more premium features without changing the core engine formula.

The XUV 7XO aims to push the XUV700 into a more premium space while retaining its strong diesel‑petrol performance and value appeal. With design upgrades, a high‑tech triple‑screen cabin and a familiar powertrain, Mahindra appears ready to refine one of its most successful SUVs for 2025.
