Kia Carens Clavis Launched at ₹11.49 Lakh – Better Than the Regular Carens?

Kia launches Carens Clavis at ₹ 11.49 L, which features a bold design, dual screens, ADAS, and 3 engine options. More premium than the regular Carens, it rivals the XL6 and Innova Hycross.
Kia has introduced the Carens Clavis, a fresh spin on its popular MPV, starting at ₹11.49 lakh (ex-showroom). While it shares its foundation with the Carens, the Clavis brings a more premium look, a longer features list, and wider variant and engine choices. Deliveries begin next week.
Refreshed Styling with a Premium Touch
At first glance, the Carens Clavis stands apart thanks to its redesigned triangular LED headlights and a sleek connected LED lightbar at the rear. The MPV silhouette is familiar, but the updated design gives it a more upmarket appearance. It also rides on new 17-inch alloy wheels that enhance its road presence.

Feature-Packed Interior for Families
Step inside, and the dual 10.25-inch screens immediately stand out—a digital driver’s display and a central infotainment unit. Kia has gone with a beige and blue interior theme, and the Clavis is offered in both 6- and 7-seat layouts. Highlights include Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, electric parking brake, and connected car tech, making it one of the most tech-loaded cars in its price range.
Powerful and Versatile Engine Lineup
The Carens Clavis comes with three engine options. The 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine (115 HP, 144 Nm) is paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The 1.5L turbo-petrol engine delivers 160 HP and 253 Nm, and can be had with a 6-speed manual, iMT, or 7-speed DCT. For diesel lovers, there’s the 1.5L CRDi engine with 116 HP and 250 Nm, available with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Pricing starts at ₹11.49 Lakh
The Carens Clavis range is broad, starting at ₹11.49 lakh for the base HTE petrol variant and going up to ₹21.50 lakh for the top-end turbo-petrol DCT model. Diesel and turbo variants are available across multiple trims, giving buyers more flexibility than the standard Carens, which is currently limited to fewer variants and features.
A Smarter, Better-Equipped Carens?
Kia’s strategy with the Clavis is clear—offer more variants, better tech, and extra powertrain choices over the regular Carens. Positioned above the Carens Prestige (O), the Clavis rivals models like the Maruti XL6 and Toyota Innova Hycross, aiming to woo family buyers who want practicality without compromising on premium features.
