Hyundai Creta Becomes India’s Best-Selling Car in March 2025

Hyundai Creta Hits No. 1 in March 2025
The Hyundai Creta has done it again—this time becoming not just the top-selling SUV, but the highest-selling car across India in March 2025. With 18,059 units sold last month alone, Creta has cemented its place as India’s most-loved SUV.
But it doesn’t stop there. Hyundai also sold a massive 52,898 units of the Creta in Q4 FY2024-25, making it the best-selling SUV of the quarter and the third-best-selling passenger car for the entire fiscal year.

A Decade of Dominance
Launched back in 2015, the Creta has now spent 10 years on Indian roads, and Hyundai has sold over 1.2 million units of the SUV in the country. Over the years, the Creta has evolved to match changing customer preferences, offering more features, and better tech, and even launching an electric variant recently.

What Are Buyers Choosing?
Hyundai revealed some interesting insights about customer preferences:
- 69% of buyers went for sunroof-equipped variants.
- 38% chose connected car variants.
- 24% of all Creta sales came from top-end trims.
- For the Creta Electric, 71% of buyers opted for higher-end variants.
This clearly shows that Indian buyers are now prioritizing tech, comfort, and premium features—something the Creta delivers in spades.
What This Means for Hyundai
According to Hyundai’s COO, Tarun Garg, the Creta is not just a car any more it’s a brand in itself. He shared that SUVs now make up 68.5% of Hyundai’s total sales, up from 63.2% in the previous year. That jump is largely thanks to the Creta.
The launch of the Creta EV has further expanded the SUV’s appeal, helping Hyundai tap into the electric mobility wave while retaining its strong foothold in the ICE segment.
Final Thoughts
The Hyundai Creta has officially become more than just a popular SUV! it’s now the benchmark in the mid-size segment. With strong sales, future-ready features, and a loyal customer base, Creta’s legacy continues to grow. Whether it’s the sunroof, the tech, or the electric variant—there’s a Creta for every kind of buyer in India today.
