Honda NX500 2026 Gets E-Clutch and New Colours at EICMA 2025
Honda’s NX500 2026 stole the spotlight at EICMA 2025, debuting with a game-changing E-Clutch and a set of fresh new colours. The update makes the popular mid-size adventure bike smoother, smarter, and more approachable – a perfect mix of technology and touring practicality.
E-Clutch: Making Everyday Riding Effortless
The biggest upgrade for 2026 is the new E-Clutch, an electronically controlled clutch system that lets riders start, stop, upshift, and downshift using only the foot lever. It eliminates the need for clutch-lever work while keeping the lever available for those who prefer manual control. The system blends clutch actuation, fuelling, and ignition management for smooth, natural gear shifts. It’s a practical innovation that simplifies city commutes, weekend touring, and even light trail rides.
Riders can customise the pedal force – Soft, Medium, or Hard – for both upshifts and downshifts, or switch the system off entirely. Touching the clutch lever reverts control to manual, and the electronics quietly re-engage after a few seconds. It’s designed to feel intuitive rather than intrusive.
Same Trusted Engine, Smarter Performance
Powering the NX500 is Honda’s proven 471cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that produces 47.5 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 43 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Updated ECU mapping improves throttle response, particularly in the low-to-mid range. The assisted slipper clutch now works alongside the E-Clutch, making downshifts smoother and reducing the risk of stalling.
With a 17.5-litre tank and quoted efficiency of 27.8 km/l, the NX500 promises nearly 500 km of real-world range. Euro 5+ compliance ensures cleaner performance without compromising power delivery.

Built for Comfort and Control
The NX500 keeps its crossover spirit alive with a diamond-structure steel frame, 41mm Showa SFF-BP upside-down fork, and Pro-Link rear suspension. Wheel travel is set at 135mm, making it comfortable over uneven surfaces. The 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels wear 110/80-R19 and 160/60-R17 tyres, offering balanced grip for on-road stability and mild off-roading.
The seat height stands at 830mm, aided by a slim midsection for easier reach. A generous 38° steering angle makes tight U-turns simple, while the wet weight — including the E-Clutch hardware – is 199 kg. The upright ergonomics, wide handlebars, and neutral footpeg position ensure fatigue-free long rides.
Tech and Features for the Modern Rider
A new 5-inch colour TFT display brings Bluetooth smartphone connectivity via Honda RoadSync. Riders can access calls, music, and navigation directly from the screen. The backlit switchgear and four-way selector make operation easy even at night, adding to the NX500’s practical touring appeal.
