Honda CB1000F Concept Unveiled: A Retro-Modern Marvel for India?

Honda has officially revealed the CB1000F Concept at the 41st Osaka Motorcycle Show 2025. This new retro-styled motorcycle blends classic aesthetics with modern performance, potentially replacing the outgoing CB1300 series.
With a powerful inline-four engine and a fresh design, the CB1000F is Honda’s take on the evolving sport bike standard.
A New Chapter for Honda’s Retro Lineup
With the CB1300 Super Four and Super Bol d’Or being discontinued, Honda is looking to fill the gap with the CB1000F. The bike draws inspiration from the legendary CB900 and CB750, featuring a round LED headlight, a slim tank, and a clean, minimalistic tail section. The chrome-finished four-into-one exhaust adds a premium touch, reinforcing its retro appeal.

Engine and Performance
Powering the CB1000F is a liquid-cooled, inline-four-cylinder engine producing around 152 PS. This makes it a strong contender in the litre-class segment, balancing raw power and refined rideability. The engine is expected to be derived from the CB1000 Hornet, ensuring high performance with modern electronics.

Underpinnings and Ride Quality
The CB1000F features a diamond frame designed to offer both rigidity and comfort. Suspension duties are handled by a 41mm Showa inverted fork at the front and a Showa monoshock at the rear. The Pro-Link swingarm setup enhances ride quality, ensuring better control on rough roads. The bike rides on 17-inch alloy wheels, with dual 310mm discs up front and a single 240mm disc at the rear for braking.

Technology and Features
Although Honda has not revealed full specifications, the CB1000F is likely to get multiple riding modes, traction control, and possibly cruise control. If it follows the CB1000 Hornet’s feature set, expect a TFT display with smartphone connectivity and a modern electronics suite.
CB1000F vs. Kawasaki Z900RS – A New Rivalry?
The CB1000F is expected to compete with the Kawasaki Z900RS, which has been one of the most popular retro roadsters globally. With similar power output and styling, the CB1000F could be Honda’s answer to the rising demand for neo-retro motorcycles.
India Launch and Expected Pricing
Honda has not confirmed if the CB1000F will come to India, but given the growing popularity of retro motorcycles, it could arrive as a premium offering. If launched, expect a price range of ₹14-16 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it against the Kawasaki Z900RS and the Triumph Speed Twin.

Final Thoughts
The CB1000F Concept is a promising addition to Honda’s lineup, blending nostalgia with modern engineering. Whether it makes it to production remains to be seen, but it certainly has the potential to become a favorite among enthusiasts. If Honda brings it to India, it could shake up the premium retro motorcycle segment in a big way.
