Electric Car Sales India November 2025 – Tata Leads Market Ahead of MG & Mahindra
Electric vehicle retail sales in India slowed down in November 2025 after a strong festive-season surge in October. The slowdown reflects consumer behaviour normalising post-festivities while EV demand remains strong overall. With buying urgency cooling and deliveries stabilising, most EV manufacturers recorded a noticeable month-on-month decline. However, overall rankings remained unchanged based on Vahan data.

Tata Leads with 41% Market Share

MG Maintains Second Place
MG finished second with 3,658 units, holding 25% market share. The Windsor EV remains its strongest contributor while the ZS EV and Comet EV continue to support brand presence.
Mahindra Strengthens Third Position
Mahindra recorded 2,920 units for a 19% share. The XUV400, XEV 9e and BE 6 are performing steadily, with the newly launched XEV 9S expected to boost future volumes.
Kia, BYD and Hyundai Share 3% Each
Further down the list, the three brands remained closely matched:
- Kia: 463 units
- BYD: 417 units
- Hyundai: 370 units
All three saw a reduction in sales compared to October.
What This Means for EV Buyers in India
Adding to India’s growing EV shift, the consistent top-three ranking for Tata, MG and Mahindra shows rising trust in domestic and well-established brands.
Despite the month-on-month dip, India’s EV market remains stable in leadership and brand placement. Tata continues to dominate entry-to-mid EV segments, while MG and Mahindra are strong challengers with new models expanding choices in 2025.
