vida unveils ubex and vxz electric motorcycles, expands global ev lineup

Hero MotoCorp’s electric division, Vida, stole the spotlight at EICMA 2025 with the debut of its first electric motorcycle concepts, the Ubex and VXZ. Known for its electric scooters, Vida is now expanding into electric motorcycles and futuristic mobility innovations. Alongside these concepts, the brand also launched the VX2 electric scooter in Europe, strengthening its global EV presence.

Vida Ubex

The Vida Ubex is the company’s most city-focused motorcycle yet. The name stands for “urban exploration,” reflecting its mission to make daily commuting smarter and more exciting. The concept draws inspiration from supermoto design, featuring a tall stance and minimalist proportions. According to Vida, the Ubex has been built for agility and comfort, blending the practicality of a commuter with the thrill of a lightweight EV.

It’s designed for easy urban maneuvering and efficient performance, offering a glimpse into what could become Vida’s first production-ready electric motorcycle for city riders.

Vida VXZ

The Vida VXZ concept marks the beginning of a new collaboration between Hero MotoCorp and Zero Motorcycles. While technical details are still under wraps, the VXZ is expected to deliver higher performance than Vida’s current lineup. It hints at a future model that combines Indian engineering with Zero’s EV expertise.

This partnership underscores Hero’s strategy to develop advanced electric motorcycles capable of competing globally, while giving Indian riders access to cutting-edge EV performance.

Vida’s showcase also included the Dirt.E lineup, expanding its reach to off-road enthusiasts and younger riders. The Dirt.E K3 is an electric dirt bike designed for children aged 4 to 10, featuring adjustable ergonomics and an adaptable wheelbase. The full-sized Dirt.E MX7, meanwhile, is built around a lightweight carbon-fibre frame for serious off-road use.

These additions show Vida’s intent to create an inclusive EV ecosystem from entry-level riders to advanced adventure enthusiasts.

Vida Novus Concepts

Beyond motorcycles, Vida introduced the Novus sub-brand, which explores futuristic urban mobility. The lineup includes:

  • Nex 1, a smart backpack that transforms into a compact electric scooter.
  • Nex 2, a three-wheeled electric commuter combining trike stability with compact design.
  • Nex 3, a micro electric city car showcasing Hero’s vision beyond two-wheelers.

These innovative designs highlight Hero’s evolving identity from a two-wheeler manufacturer to a forward-thinking mobility company.

A New Chapter for Vida and Hero

With its EICMA 2025 lineup, Vida has clearly transitioned from scooter maker to global EV innovator. The Ubex and VXZ concepts mark a shift in Hero’s strategy, combining design, technology, and sustainability to reach a wider audience. As these models move closer to production, Hero’s electric future looks brighter than ever and ready for the world stage.
