EICMA 2025: OMT 450c Factory Debuts with World First DAST Frame Tech
At EICMA 2025, innovation and creativity merged in the OMT 450c Factory, a groundbreaking flat track motorcycle created through a collaboration between Honda RedMoto and Picasso Engineering. This is the first motorcycle in the world to feature Dynamic Adaptive Stiffness Technology (DAST), a system that allows the frame to adapt its stiffness characteristics for ultimate control and performance.
The DAST Frame: A Revolution in Flexibility
The centrepiece of the OMT 450c Factory is its DAST frame, built using carbon side members connected by CNC-machined alloy nodes. Each carbon section can be swapped for versions with different stiffness profiles, letting engineers and riders fine-tune how the bike behaves on different tracks. The system even allows asymmetric setups, giving riders unmatched control over how the chassis flexes during intense cornering.

This breakthrough turns the frame itself into a tuning component, similar to adjusting suspension settings. It’s a concept that could redefine flat track racing and inspire new approaches to motorcycle design in the years ahead.
Engineering Meets Performance
Powering the OMT 450c Factory is the tried and tested Honda CRF 450R engine, combining proven performance with cutting-edge frame technology. The project blends Honda RedMoto’s motorsport experience with Picasso Engineering’s mastery of advanced materials, resulting in a motorcycle that is both innovative and dependable.
The Artistic Touch: Picasso Mood
Adding an emotional layer to its technical brilliance, the OMT 450c Factory features design input from the creative project Picasso Mood, led by urban artist Mood. His artistic interpretation transforms the bike’s lines into expressions and faces, capturing the emotion of speed. The concept gives the motorcycle a human touch, proving that art and engineering can move in perfect harmony.

The Road Ahead
The OMT 450c Factory marks a new chapter in motorcycle innovation where materials science meets emotion. As the first flat track bike to feature DAST technology, it reimagines how riders interact with performance and design. Displayed under Honda RedMoto at EICMA 2025, Hall 07 | Stand G30, this creation symbolises the evolution of riding – where adaptability, creativity, and precision shape the future of speed.
