BMW F 450 GS Unofficial Bookings Begin in India

BMW Motorrad has opened unofficial bookings for its all-new F 450 GS in India, just days after the adventure motorcycle made its global debut at EICMA 2025. The new mid-capacity GS has generated excitement among enthusiasts, with dealers now accepting token amounts ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 50,000, depending on the city. Bookings are fully refundable, and the bike is expected to be officially launched at the India Bike Week in December 2025, followed by deliveries starting early next year.

Bookings and launch timeline

The F 450 GS will be positioned below the larger F 850 GS, targeting riders looking for a more accessible adventure bike experience. Built in collaboration with TVS at its Indian facility, local production should help BMW price the bike competitively. Reports suggest an ex-showroom price of around Rs 5 lakh, translating to an on-road cost of nearly Rs 6 lakh. Some dealers are even hinting at introductory pricing below Rs 5 lakh for early buyers.

Engine and performance

Powering the F 450 GS is a newly developed 450cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine co-engineered with TVS. It delivers 48 PS and up to 45 Nm of torque and is paired with a six-speed gearbox featuring BMW’s Quickshifter Pro for clutchless upshifts and downshifts. The adventure tourer rides on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup, supported by KYB suspension offering 180mm travel at both ends.

Design and features

The bike carries BMW’s signature GS styling with a sharp beak, sculpted tank, and X-shaped LED DRL inspired by the R 1300 GS. Equipment includes a 6.5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity, heated grips, adjustable levers, and full-LED lighting. Higher trims get the Easy Ride Clutch and Enduro Pro mode for enhanced off-road performance.

Pricing and rivals

With its expected price tag of around Rs 5 lakh, the BMW F 450 GS will compete with the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 750 and the CFMoto 450 MT. The new baby GS promises to combine BMW’s adventure DNA with affordability, making it one of the most awaited launches in India’s midsize ADV segment.
