TL:DRTL;DR

BMW has teased the F 450 GS ahead of its EICMA 2025 debut. Built with TVS, it replaces the G 310 GS and launches in India in early 2026 with a 450cc twin-cylinder engine, premium features, and a design inspired by the R 1300 GS.

BMW Motorrad has officially teased the upcoming F 450 GS ahead of its global debut at the EICMA 2025 show in Milan. Set to be unveiled on November 4, the adventure tourer will replace the now-discontinued G 310 GS as BMW’s new entry-level ADV. Co-developed with TVS, the India-bound F 450 GS promises to bring a fresh wave of excitement to the middleweight adventure motorcycle segment.

Design and Styling

The BMW F 450 GS draws heavy inspiration from the larger R 1300 GS, adopting its signature front beak, muscular fuel tank, and sleek radiator shrouds. The production model stays true to the 2024 concept showcased at EICMA and the Bharat Mobility Expo, with only minor refinements. It gets a split-seat setup, adjustable levers, and mid-mounted foot pegs designed for comfort on long rides. The ADV’s stance reflects BMW’s balance between touring comfort and mild off-road capability.

Engine and Performance

Powering the F 450 GS is an all-new 450cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine co-developed with TVS. This motor produces around 48 bhp and 45 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox and slipper clutch. The engine platform has been engineered for smooth power delivery and strong mid-range performance, ideal for both highway touring and light trails. Rumours also suggest that BMW might introduce a semi-automatic transmission variant at a later stage.

Features and Technology

BMW has equipped the F 450 GS with a comprehensive feature set. Expect all-LED lighting, traction control, cornering ABS, multiple ride modes, and a coloured TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity. The bike rides on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels wrapped in tubeless tyres, offering the ideal balance between city usability and adventure touring. These features collectively make the F 450 GS one of the most advanced ADVs in its class.

Chassis and Hardware

Built on a lightweight trellis frame, the F 450 GS features upside-down front forks and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock. While the base variant will use standard suspension, a higher-spec trim with fully adjustable hardware is likely. The adventure bike’s expected kerb weight is around 175–180 kg, ensuring agility and stability on varied terrains. Though more touring-focused than hardcore off-roaders, the F 450 GS still offers ample capability for weekend adventures.

Launch Timeline and Rivals

The BMW F 450 GS will make its world debut at EICMA 2025 on November 4, followed by an India launch in early 2026. Locally assembled at TVS’ Hosur facility, it will serve as BMW’s new gateway ADV for Indian riders. Once launched, it will rival the Honda NX500, Benelli TRK 502, Brixton Crossfire 500 Storr, and CF Moto 450 MT – all key players in the growing mid-size adventure motorcycle space.
