The Tata Sierra has already created strong excitement in India’s midsize SUV market, with growing interest in upcoming SUVs in India 2026 and new EV rivals emerging rapidly. But competition is heating up fast. Three major SUVs are getting ready to take on Tata’s comeback icon with new designs, features and powertrains.

Maruti e Vitara- Launch on December 2, 2025

Maruti Suzuki will launch the e Vitara tomorrow with pricing and variant details. It is a 5‑seater electric SUV and a direct rival to the Tata Sierra EV.

It will come with 49kWh and 61kWh battery options paired with an electric motor setup. The AWD system will be available only with the larger battery pack. Maruti claims a driving range of over 500km.

It will also compete with Hyundai Creta Electric, MG ZS EV and Mahindra BE 6.

New‑Gen Kia Seltos- Debut on December 10, 2025

The second‑generation Seltos brings Kia’s latest design language to India. The teaser confirms reworked headlamps and taillamps, a new bumper and stylish alloys.

The SUV will be longer and wider than before, improving cabin space. Premium features like a panoramic sunroof, redesigned dashboard and updated materials will be offered.

Engine options are expected to remain unchanged from the current model.

New Renault Duster- India Debut on January 26, 2026

The third‑generation Duster returns with a bolder and more sophisticated design inspired by the global Dacia Bigster.

Key highlights include a new grille with Renault’s logo, split LED headlamps, Y‑shaped DRLs, C-pillar-mounted rear door handles and Y‑shaped taillamps.

It will come with turbo‑petrol engines, likely a 1.0L turbo and a 1.3L turbo.
