Toyota Opens First Experiential Museum In India: Culture, Design And Brand Storytelling Come Together

Toyota Opens First Experiential Museum In India

Toyota has launched its first Experiential Museum in India, and it marks a bold shift in how the brand wants to connect with people. Instead of displaying cars and pitching products, Toyota is focusing on emotions, culture and design to tell its story.

What Makes The Toyota Experiential Museum Special

Inside Tem

Located inside Bengaluru’s Phoenix Mall of Asia, the Toyota Experiential Museum spans 8,200 square feet and is designed as a guided journey rather than an open showroom. The space doesn’t showcase car brochures or sales counters. Instead, it lets visitors explore the brand’s philosophy through visual storytelling, Japanese cultural influences and sensory elements.

Inside The Museum: Highlights Of The Experience

The experience begins with a large‑scale visual installation that recreates seasonal transitions common to both India and Japan. Projection mapping and dynamic lighting bring summer, monsoon, spring and autumn to life — reflecting how both cultures celebrate nature and balance.

The journey then moves into an audio‑visual chamber created in collaboration with Japanese performance group DRUM TAO. Percussion, rhythm and immersive visuals come together to capture the ideas of motion, harmony and energy — elements Toyota says define its design language.

One of the most striking elements inside the museum is a sculptural installation where a vehicle is surrounded by a flowing water curtain and satin fabric. Mist, motion and controlled lighting highlight the vehicle not as a machine, but as a moving piece of art.

Visitors are then guided to a design‑focused merchandise zone, where products inspired by Japanese minimalism meet Indian cultural accents. The experience concludes at the Matcha Corner, where guests can sample matcha‑based drinks — including a standout mango‑infused matcha that represents the cultural blend between the two countries.

Location And Visitor Information

Toyota has enabled pre‑bookings for the Experiential Museum through both the official TEM India website and BookMyShow. The museum is located at Unit G‑22, Upper Ground Floor, Phoenix Mall of Asia, Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Final Takeaway

Toyota’s Experiential Museum shows how the brand is expanding beyond mobility and into emotional engagement. Rather than featuring vehicles as products, TEM invites visitors to experience the brand through art, culture, design and sensory storytelling — offering a fresh and memorable way to understand Toyota’s identity.
