BMW F 450 GS India Launch Next Month: Specs, Features & Expected Price Revealed

BMW F 450 GS

BMW Motorrad is gearing up for the India launch of the F 450 GS next month, and excitement is already building among ADV lovers. The motorcycle is likely to make its first appearance at the India Bike Week in Goa between December 19 and 20. Positioned below the F 850 GS globally, the bike promises a strong mix of performance, features and off‑road capability for the Indian market.

Design and Road Presence

The BMW F 450 GS carries a tall stance and rugged adventure styling inspired by the larger GS lineup. It gets a beak‑like front end, a compact tail and an X‑shaped LED headlamp that emphasises its GS identity. Built on a new tubular steel frame, the bike weighs just 178 kg in ready‑to‑ride condition, making it lighter and more manageable than many ADVs in this class.

Engine and Performance

BMW F 450 GS Engine

Power comes from a newly developed 420 cc parallel‑twin engine with a 135‑degree crankpin offset. The motor produces 48 hp and 43 Nm and is paired with a six‑speed transmission featuring a slipper/assist clutch. BMW claims the engine offers a more engaging character with controlled vibrations thanks to a balance shaft.

The F 450 GS also delivers practical touring potential with fuel efficiency rated at around 3.8 litres per 100 km internationally. A riding range of over 350 km makes it suitable for long‑distance travel.

Ride Modes, Electronics and Safety

The bike packs plenty of electronic rider aids for its segment. Rain, Road and Enduro riding modes come standard, while the Enduro Pro mode is offered on higher variants. Braking hardware includes Brembo at the front and ByBre at the rear with support from cornering ABS, traction control, engine brake control and Dynamic Brake Control.

Shift Assistant Pro further enhances the experience by enabling smooth, clutchless gear shifts. The semi‑automatic clutch setup reduces clutch use during starts, traffic and off‑road manoeuvres.

Variants and Features Breakdown

BMW will offer the F 450 GS in four variants: Basic, Exclusive, Sport and GS Trophy. Higher trims receive adventure‑focused upgrades such as adjustable sport suspension, aluminium engine guards, hand guards and off‑road footrests. Colour options include Racing Red and Racing Blue Metallic, depending on the variant.

A 6.5‑inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity comes standard across the lineup, along with heated grips and a USB‑C charging port.
