Ather Rizta Electric Scooter Launched in Sri Lanka at Colombo Motor Show 2025
Ather Energy has officially launched the Rizta electric scooter in Sri Lanka, marking the company’s expansion into its second international market. The debut took place at the Colombo Motor Show 2025, nearly a year after Ather first entered the Sri Lankan EV space with the 450X.
Ather Rizta Sri Lanka Launch Overview
The Rizta enters the Sri Lankan market through Ather’s collaboration with Evolution Auto Pvt. Ltd, the brand’s authorised distributor in the country. Since December 2024, Ather has built 40 experience centres across key cities, backed by Ather Grid fast chargers to support a growing EV charging ecosystem.
The family-focused launch highlights the brand’s intent to capture the practical EV two-wheeler segment, rather than targeting only performance-driven users.
Features & Technology

The Rizta electric scooter is designed around convenience and comfort for families. It offers a generous 34-litre under-seat storage along with a wide floorboard suitable for everyday commuting. Ather’s SkidControl technology ensures added safety on slippery surfaces.
The top-end Rizta Z variant comes equipped with a 7-inch TFT display featuring Google Maps navigation, music control, and call management, blending daily usability with modern tech.
Ather’s Global Expansion
Ather’s international journey began in Nepal in November 2023, where it currently has nine experience centres and seven service stations. The Sri Lanka launch marks the brand’s second major step in overseas growth.
In India, Ather boasts 524 experience centres and 3,643 fast-charging stations as of September 2025. Across India, Nepal and Sri Lanka, the brand has installed a total of 4,322 fast chargers, strengthening its global EV charging network.
Verdict
The launch of the Rizta reinforces Ather’s aim to expand beyond performance scooters and tap into the family EV segment internationally. With practicality-focused features and a growing charging network, the Rizta positions Ather strongly in the Sri Lankan electric scooter market.
