5 New Maruti Suzuki Small Cars Coming Soon With Hybrids & EVs

Maruti Suzuki is gearing up for a major product overhaul, with several new small cars featuring hybrid and electric powertrains set to arrive over the next few years. As the brand continues to dominate the mass-market space, these upcoming models aim to offer better fuel efficiency, modern features and wider body-style choices.

The lineup begins with the Fronx Hybrid, expected to be one of the earliest launches. It may first use a mild-hybrid system similar to global versions before transitioning to Maruti’s stronger in-house hybrid technology. Features like ADAS are also likely, making it more appealing in the compact crossover segment.

Maruti is also working on a brand-new small hatchback designed to revive the first-time buyer segment. It is rumoured to come with petrol, CNG, flex-fuel and hybrid options, targeting customers prioritising affordability and practicality.

A new compact MPV inspired by the Suzuki Spacia is another key addition. Positioned below the Ertiga, this tall and spacious model could be powered by a strong-hybrid petrol engine and compete directly with the Renault Triber and upcoming Nissan MPV.

For SUV buyers, Maruti is developing a micro SUV expected around 2026 or 2027. Positioned below the Fronx, it will take on the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter with a hybrid-focused approach.

On the EV front, Maruti is preparing a small electric vehicle based on the eWX concept. The production model is expected to retain a tall, boxy shape to maximise cabin room for city usage.

The next-generation Baleno, likely arriving by 2027, will introduce a more advanced hybrid system with an expected real-world efficiency of over 30 kmpl.

Together, these models highlight Maruti Suzuki’s strong push toward hybrid and electric mobility in India.
