Mahindra Launches Charge_IN App, First Fast Charger Goes Live in India
Mahindra has officially launched its new Charge_IN app, marking the brand’s entry into India’s public EV charging network. The app is now available on both iOS and Android, allowing users to search, select and start charging directly through their phones.
First 180 kW Charger Goes Live
The app reveals Mahindra’s first public fast-charging station located at Neelkanth Star Murthal. It offers 180 kW DC charging at a competitive rate of Rs 20 per kWh, making it one of the more affordable high-speed charging options in the country.
The station shows multiple CCS connectors, real-time availability and user ratings. According to early users, someone has already charged their EV at this station shortly after the app’s launch.
Integrated for Mahindra EVs
Mahindra confirms that its upcoming eSUV lineup, including models like the XEV 9S and other INGLO-based vehicles, will have in-built support for Charge_IN. This means owners will be able to locate and access Charge_IN chargers directly from their vehicle’s interface.
Mixed but Positive Reactions
Early responses to the app highlight both praise and concerns. Some users appreciated the Rs 20/kWh pricing, especially compared to networks like Zeon that charge around Rs 27 for lower 120 kW speeds. Others pointed out that Mahindra launched the app with only one operational charger so far.
Despite that, most users agree it’s a solid first step. As Mahindra expands its EV lineup, Charge_IN could become an important part of India’s fast-growing EV ecosystem.
