Maruti Suzuki e Vitara to Launch in India on December 2 ?
Maruti Suzuki is set to enter India’s electric vehicle market with the launch of its first electric SUV, the e-Vitara, on December 2, 2025. The model will be sold through Nexa dealerships and is already being built at Maruti’s Gujarat plant, which also exports to Europe.
Design and styling
The e-Vitara is based on the EVX concept and keeps much of its futuristic design. It features sharp LED headlamps with Y-shaped DRLs, heavy body cladding, and connected tail lamps that give it a modern, bold look. The SUV’s styling aims to blend a sporty feel with practicality for everyday Indian conditions.

Interior and features
Inside, the e-Vitara introduces a fresh design not seen in any other Maruti model. It gets a large dual-screen setup, a soft-touch dashboard, and a rotary gear selector. Global variants come equipped with features like ADAS, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, and a 360-degree camera. Most of these are expected in the Indian model as well.
Battery, power, and range
Under the hood, the e-Vitara will likely come with two battery options — 49 kWh and 61 kWh. The standard version is equipped with a 142 bhp motor, while the higher variant produces 172 bhp. The global version also offers all-wheel drive, though India may initially get only the front-wheel-drive version. Depending on the variant, the e-Vitara offers a WLTP range of up to 428 km.
Competition and expectations
When launched, the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara will compete with the Hyundai Creta Electric and Mahindra BE6. With local manufacturing, a premium Nexa experience, and Maruti’s trusted network, the e Vitara could play a key role in making electric SUVs more accessible to Indian buyers.
