Tata, Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, and Toyota are leading this charge, each promising long-range capability and premium tech.

Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara – Nexa’s First EV

Maruti Suzuki is ready to enter the EV race with the e-Vitara, built in Gujarat and sold via Nexa outlets. It will offer 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery options and a range near 500 km. With a panoramic sunroof, digital cluster, and ADAS features, it targets the same buyers considering the Creta EV and MG ZS EV. Prices are expected to be between Rs 25–30 lakh with a late 2025 debut.
Toyota Urban Cruiser BEV – Shared Roots, New Identity

Toyota’s upcoming Urban Cruiser BEV shares its platform with the e-Vitara but will carry a distinct design. It will feature twin digital screens, OTA updates, and wireless charging. Launch is expected in early 2026, priced around Rs 28–33 lakh. Toyota’s focus will be on reliability and refined performance.
What Lies Ahead
These four electric SUVs 500+ km range India launches signal the start of a serious EV evolution. With better range, features, and charging support, they’ll set new standards in the midsize SUV market. As rivals like Hyundai, MG, and BYD expand their lineups, this new wave from Tata, Mahindra, Maruti, and Toyota could define India’s next EV decade.
