Maruti Suzuki’s first midsize electric SUV, the e Vitara, will arrive with an aerodynamic, EV‑focused design featuring a sealed fascia, sleek LED lighting and new alloy wheels. The interior has been upgraded with premium materials, a large touchscreen and an improved digital cluster, making it more appealing to modern EV buyers.

The e Vitara is based on the Heartect e platform and is expected to offer around 500 km real‑world range. It will be available with two battery pack options, giving customers flexibility based on price and range. A Toyota-branded sibling, the Urban Cruiser BEV, will follow next year, expanding the midsize electric SUV space.

Mahindra’s upcoming XEV 9S will strengthen the brand’s EV lineup with a three‑row midsize electric SUV positioned alongside the XEV 9e and BE 6. The design takes cues from the XUV.e8 concept as well as the XUV700, combining futuristic elements with familiar proportions.

The XEV 9S sits on Mahindra’s INGLO skateboard architecture, supporting fast charging, large battery modules and powerful electric motors. Top variants are expected to deliver close to 500 km range, making it a capable long‑distance family EV. Mahindra’s rapid EV expansion places the XEV 9S as a key contender in India’s midsize EV SUV category.

The SUV stays close to the concept showcased earlier, blending retro nostalgia with modern EV styling.

Inside, the Sierra EV features a triple‑screen setup, layered dashboard materials and a panoramic roof extending deep into the cabin. It will share its battery and motor setups with the Curvv EV and Harrier EV, with the larger pack expected to deliver over 500 km real‑world driving range. As Tata leads India’s EV market, the Sierra EV is poised to become one of the most impactful midsize electric SUVs in India.

These three new EVs highlight how quickly India’s electric SUV market is evolving, giving buyers more long‑range and premium options than ever before.
